Delta Gamma New House

Delta Gamma New Build

One of the best parts about being in a sisterhood at Mizzou is the experience of living in house with over 90 of your closest friends. Living in house is an experience that stays with you the rest of your life. It’s where you meet your best friends, share laughs, tears, delicious meals made by our fabulous cook A.J. and get to learn about women that come from so many different walks of life.

We are so excited for our sisterhood to have this experience in our brand new house which opens in August 2017! This has been a long, exciting project for our chapter, and after a year of rebuilding, we can't wait to have our sisterhood under one Delta Gamma roof again.

Just some of the features that will be included in the new house will be (but are defiantly not limited to) the most updated technologies for both exterior and interior security, a beautiful grand staircase, a chapter room which will be capable of seating over 300 people, a grand dining hall and two living floors which can sleep 91 women (with the best Wi-Fi capabilities we can get). At the forefront of our minds when choosing how to design this house, is how to make this commercial structure feel like a home, so every inch of this house has been looked over enough times that I could walk you through it in my sleep! This house is designed to serve the needs of over 300 collegiate women in order to give them the best college experience and I have no doubt that it will do just that.

I have had the pleasure of getting the chance to work on this multi-million dollar project since August 2015. As the Collegiate Representative for the Building Committee, I have been working directly with the Architects, Contractors, Housing Corporation and our Design Committee, giving a collegians point of view as to what should be included in the structure of the new house. All of these members have welcomed and encouraged my opinion, proving how much Delta Gamma does value the thoughts of its members, and how much they do want this home to be the best it can be for its current members and those to come.

This has been one of the best experiences that I have ever had the opportunity to be a part of, and I am incredibly fortunate to have a found a home in Delta Gamma. I know I can speak for my entire chapter when I say how excited we are for this new beginning and how thankful we all are for all of the donors and people who have come together to make this idea a reality.

Delta Gamma "Old" House

Our old house was one of the most well known on campus for its beautiful curved façade and unique portico, where on a sunny day you can look to the top and see our girls enjoying the beautiful weather by taking their studies outside and catching some sun. 901 S. Providence had been the home of the University of Missouri Delta Gamma’s for 80 years and has been the anchor to our sisterhood. Our old house is filled with endless memories that we will cherish forever. We are so excited to fill the walls of our new house with the same love and memories.
