Letter from Recruitment Chair
Dear Potential New Members,
On behalf of the women of Delta Gamma, we would like to say we are thrilled on your decision to participate in formal recruitment!
Over 140 years ago, Delta Gamma was founded on the core values of sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and service. We strive to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and to develop the best qualities of character.
To the members of Delta Gamma here at Mizzou, our sisterhood is a bond that will always be there through any obstacle we may face. We grow together, we support each other, and we care for one another. DG has given us friendships that will last far beyond our four years here at the University of Missouri.
Whether it is within Delta Gamma, in athletics, within other campus organizations, or in the classroom, our members are constantly working hard to live up to our motto: ‘Do Good.’ Many Delta Gamma’s are also representatives of other campus organizations such as, Homecoming and Greek week Steer Co., Golden Girls, cheerleaders, Summer Welcome leaders, athletes, Mizzou alternative breaks, volunteers in the community, and many more.
Philanthropy is very important to the women in our chapter. Every fall, Delta Gamma hosts a philanthropy event specific to our sorority called Anchor Splash – a synchronized swimming and dance competition where members of fraternities and other organizations at Mizzou participate to help us raise money and awareness for service for sight. In the spring we host a 2nd philanthropy event. Delta Gamma also participates in many Greek events on campus such as Homecoming, Greek Week, RAMS, Mizzouthon, and many fraternity and sorority philanthropies.
At the University of Missouri, Delta gamma is more than just a sorority. Delta Gamma is a home filled with loving women who strive for excellence in themselves and their sisters. We are all super excited to meet you during recruitment, see you soon!
